A superb venue for Tuscan holidays, family gatherings, romantic weddings enjoyed in a traditional Italian Maze Garden, as well as Prestigious dinners, memorable birthday parties, business meetings, team building, art and cooking courses, retreats.

Antique furniture and paintings represent the family history of the proprietor which goes back to the famous Renaissance painter, Sofonisba Anguissola.

Enjoy a cocktail by the swimming pool, or a pizza made in our own wooden-fired pizza oven or a treat of Bistecca Fiorentina prepared among family and friends at our outdoor barbeque, in a dream-like atmosphere, surrounded by olive and cypress trees and dotted with squirrels and pheasants, while still being so close to the principal museums and architectural masterpieces of the amazing city of Florence.

The Estate comprises of a main Villa, the Villa Antica, the origins of which date back to the 14th Century and an adjoining accommodation, the Limonaia. The buildings are surrounded by lush greenery, a swimming pool, olive groves, and an abutting farm.

ACCOMMODATION
Villa Merlo Nero
The Villa has been carefully restored to its former grandeur and with its high coffered ceilings, wooden beams, parquet floors, travertine bathrooms, original tower and majestic Sandstone fireplaces offers rooms that are spacious and bright, with high quality refined furniture.
On the First Floor, seven bedrooms, six bathrooms of classical design, two stunning sizeable lounge/dining areas with fireplaces, a separate kitchen, a stunning balcony from where one can absorb the beautiful sounds of the garden, watch the squirrels dart around the trees and enjoy the original Italian maze garden and a beautiful terrace with dining area for sunny breakfast or beautiful sundowners. King size beds in most bedrooms. Five bedrooms have their own bathroom, three of which with luxury travertine finishes. Five bathrooms with walk-in shower, one with classical ceramic bath-tub.
On the bottom floor, a separated elegant Events area with its beautiful Lounges and hand decorated Chinese Room which can be rented on request for memorable dinners, anniversary celebrations, weddings, conferences, team building and fashion shows.
At garden level, a veranda overlooking the garden with dining area to enjoy breakfast and dinners and a country kitchen dedicated to private chefs/catering/cooking courses.
Villa Merlo Nero can accommodate 14 people. Every room is equipped with Air conditioning and furnished with traditional historical furniture and paintings, so as to keep the Tuscan feeling of the villa.
Villa Antica
Dating back to the 14th century, this property was the Country lodge and guest house for the Villa Merlo Nero. The vaulted ceilings, beautiful antique furniture, the big Sandstone fireplace, the renaissance paintings and the velvet blue antique high chairs in the dining-room take one back to a bygone era. The lodge can accommodate 11 people in five bedrooms.
La Limonaia
The cottage accommodates up to 3 people (one double bed and one sofa bed) and has its own kitchenette and bathroom (with walk-in shower and bathtub). It overlooks the pool area.
The beautiful grounds and flower garden with old terracotta flower pots scattered around and some fruit trees are reserved for guests as part of the Villa. Swimming pool with sun loungers nestled among olive trees, pizza oven, grill, outdoor shower.
